教員紹介

薬学では薬を造ることが一つの夢です。がんの痛みを抑えるためにモルヒネのような麻薬性鎮痛薬を用いますが、副作用として便秘が現れます。私はこの便秘を未然に防ぐ薬の開発に取り組み、製薬会社と共にナルデメジンという薬を開発し、現在広く使用されています。一方、薬物依存の研究は学生時代からライフワークとしており、米国薬物依存研究所にも留学しました。さらに、世界保健機構(WHO)の薬物依存専門委員会委員を2002年から15年間務めました。また、教育面では日本私立薬科大学協会より2013年に教育賞を受賞することができました。
